Script Plot Synopsis Outline:
The movie opens with the Soviet military having infiltrated the United States with the intent of raiding a U.S. Military base called Area 51. After the Soviets have successfully entered the secret military base, we learn Indiana Jones and his side kick named Mac have been captured by the Soviet Russians and brought to Area 51 in the trunk of one of the Soviet vehicles. Next, the villain Irina Spalko has Indy Jones and Mac removed from the trunk and she requests Indiana Jones help her find something she wants, which is clandestinely hidden in a warehouse at Area 51.
At first, Indy Jones refuses to help the Soviets, but Indiana Jones eventually agrees to help Irina Spalko. Since the item their looking for is highly magnetized, Indy Jones utilizes gun powder, which is attracted to the item, in order to find the crate that keeps the item the Soviets are seeking. After a while, they locate the crate. It is opened to reveal the corpse of an alien extraterrestrial species. However, after the crate is opened, Indy Jones takes a gun from one of the Russian soldiers and threatens the Soviets.
Yet it turns out Mac is working with the Soviets and Mac points his gun at Indiana Jones. However, Indy Jones doesn't give up. Indiana Jones manages to create a distraction and he flees from the Soviets. A thrilling action sequence in the Area 51 warehouse then ensues with the Russians chasing after Indy Jones. After Indiana Jones flees from the Russians, Dovchenko chases Indy Jones into a room with a rocket sled. The rocket is ignited and it sends Indiana Jones and Dovchenko deep into the Nevada desert. Indy Jones eventually makes his way to an abandoned town where Indiana Jones learns an atomic bomb is about to be set off. Indy Jones hides in a refrigerator to shield himself from the deadly radioactive atomic explosion.
The U.S. Government believes Indy Jones might be a communist. Hence, Indy Jones loses his professors position at Marshall College. Indiana Jones decides to leave town, but he is met by a young motorcycle rider named Mutt Williams, who asks Indy Jones if Indy Jones knows someone named Harold Oxley. It turns out that Professor Oxley and Mutt Williams' mother have been captured by the Soviets. In order to save Oxley, Indy Jones agrees to help Mutt Williams save his mother and Oxley from the Russians.
Enigmatic clues left behind by Oxley lead Indiana Jones and Mutt Williams to Orellana's cradle. After entering an underground complex, Indy Jones and Mutt Williams find the extraterrestrial alien crystal skull. After Indy Jones and Mutt Williams emerge from the ancient tomb, they are captured by the Soviets and the two heroes are taken by the Russians to a secret camp in the middle of the jungle.
Irina Spalko reveals that the Soviets want to utilize the power of the crystal skull to control the minds of all the Humans of Earth. Moreover, Irina Spalko reveals to Indy Jones that the crystal skull is alien extraterrestrial in origin. At first, Irina Spalko threatens to kill Mutt Williams, then to kill Mutt Williams' mother, who turns out to be Marion Ravenwood, who is Indy Jones' former girlfriend featured in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Indy Jones agree to help the Soviets find the Temple of Akator, but in the process the heroes manage to escape from the Russians. Later on, Indy Jones learns from Marion Ravenwood that Mutt Williams is really Indiana Jones' own biological son, who does not know Indy Jones is Mutt Williams' real father. A fantastically exciting chase sequence takes place in the jungle with the Soviets chasing after the heroes in Russian Military vehicles.
Eventually, the heroes elude the Soviets and make their way to the Temple of Akator based on clues and info derived from Oxley. After many, many stunning escapades, the heroes make it to the chamber where there are 12 extraterrestrial alien skeletons sitting on thrones surrounding a vast underground mysterious chamber. One of these alien extraterrestrial skeletons is missing its skull. Meanwhile, Mac has been secretly dropping tracking devices, which allow Irina Spalko and the Soviet soldiers to follow the heroes.
After surprising the heroes once again, Irina Spalko places the crystal skull on top of the skeleton, which is missing its skull. The twelve alien extraterrestrial skeletons are brought back to life. The extraterrestrials aliens agree to give the Humans a gift for returning the crystal skull. Irina Spalko asks to have all the knowledge and secrets of the entire Universe and reality for herself personally. Suddenly, this infinite knowledge beyond the imagination in scope is sent to the mind of Irina Spalko. Smoke begins to be emitted from the aliens extraterrestrials and the room begins to rotate.
A multi dimensional portal opens up above the room with all the contents of the room being brought violently into the portal gateway. Irina Spalko is stunned by the vast knowledge entering her brain and it becomes more than she can comprehend. Irina Spalko asks for the extraterrestrials aliens to stop the knowledge transfer, but it is already too late. Irina Spalko is destroyed by the aliens extraterrestrials for seeking godlike knowledge for evil reasons. The 12 extraterrestrial alien skeletons form one multi dimensional extraterrestrial alien entity. The heroes manage to escape, but Mac and the Soviets are consumed by the portal gateway.
The heroes arrive back in the United States. Dean Charlie Stanforth is watching the name Henry Jones Jr Associate Dean being painted on a door. It seems both Stanforth and Indy Jones have gotten their old jobs back with a promotion for Indiana Jones. The film concludes with the marriage of Indy Jones and Marion Ravenwood.
