Short Round Shorty History

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Background: Short Round was orphaned when the Japanese bombed Shanghai, China in 1932. When Indy Jones first met Shorty, Short Round was working as a young taxicab driver in Shanghai. Shorty rescued Indiana Jones from a precarious situation and after Indy Jones learned about Shorty not having any family, then Indiana Jones decided to invite Shorty to be his side kick in further adventures.

For a brief time, Short Round had attended a Christian school, but he was also very knowledgeable regarding Chinese mythology. Eventually, many years after the time of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Short Round immigrated to the United States. Short Round is fluent in English and the Cantonese dialect of China. Later in life, Short Round became an archaeologist in the same mold as Indy Jones and tracked down the Peacock's Eye (which is the diamond Indiana Jones is trying to obtain during the opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom).
